Incubator: Integration of a Payment Layer

Technical Requirements

The payment layer should leverage other existing investments in financial payment systems (e.g. Mifos, mojaloop). The payment layer should be developed as a standalone service which can be integrated into openIMIS and which leverages the HL7 FHIR data model for data exchange, in particular the payment related resources in the financial module.

The legacy openIMIS will include a Payment Layer. It was developed and implemented in Tanzania to allow the payment of contribution through mobile or bank payment (control number are requested through USSD or openIMIS Policies mobile application). It is part of the new REST API (plus mobile phone part) which will be released in October and was developed as a generic module to be extended to the implementation's payment solution (does not work by its own).
