Configurable Workflows

Currently openIMIS supports specific workflows for certain business processes (e.g. claims process, enrollment) that do not allow for many adaptations to the workflows in a specific organisation. These workflows are however very much dependent on local organisational and legal frameworks.

Workflows are considered as processes, that push objects (etc. claims, memberships) through a certain sequence of processing states. Each task in a workflow potentially changes the state of the object to avail it for the next task in that sequence. Currently in openIMIS the states and sequence of tasks are quite stable.

Implementing organisations must be enabled to configure their on state-sets and must also be able to define which tasks are needed to move an object through the workflow. These workflows shall be exportable/importable to allow for best practice scenarios that can be used as blue-prints for other organisations.
