KeHIA: openIMIS Development Kenya
The Kenya Health Informatics Association (KeHIA) is looking to onboard a development company to support the implementation and customization of openIMIS in Kenya.
Key Project Responsibilities include;
Developing specifications for openIMIS customization and interoperability with other systems.
Customizing openIMIS and build interoperability with external systems to meet the specifications developed.
Developing capacity building materials based on customized openIMIS
Provide trainings to the system users.

Key Responsibilities
Develop specifications for openIMIS customization and interoperability with other

Lead the testing of the developed software
Lead the documentation efforts of software development
Develop capacity building materials based on the customized openIMIS
Provide trainings to the system users
Engage with the global openIMIS community of practice and the local community of
practice in Kenya.
Team Qualifications
Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering,
Informatics, or any other related field.7 years of professional experience as a systems architecture and design building scalable
and high performance software solutions in client/server environments5 years of professional experience as a Full Stack Software Developer and systems
architect with open source development frameworks, especially based on PythonExperience in working with SQL databases (PostgreSQL would be an advantage)
Knowledge of GraphQL
Professional experience in project management of software development projects
2 years of experience in health systems projects in Sub-Saharan Africa
Experience with Material UI would be an advantage
Understanding of FHIR APIs especially in the Kenyan context
Experience in setting up internet-hardened server systems
Experience using Docker for installation and packaging own developments
Knowledge of Digital Health ecosystem in Kenya would be a plus
Experience with openIMIS is desired but not essential
