Digital Square RFA #2024-067
Investment in Open-Source Global Health Security Tools
In pursuit of our Mission, connect health leaders with the resources necessary for digital transformation, Digital Square offers a new way to invest in digital health—providing a space where countries and members of the global community can gather to think big and do good, together. By convening government officials, technological innovators, donor and implementation partners, and others across borders and boundaries, Digital Square can grow possibility into reality by focusing on our common goal: connecting the world for better health.
Digital Square’s work supports three result areas:
Alignment and Co-investment: Digital Square helps to identify promising investment opportunities and provides operational support to streamline procurement.
Global goods: Digital Square promotes the development, adoption, and reuse of global goods, and helps increase their availability, adaptability, and maturity.
Regional and Country Systems: Digital Square helps elevate country priorities and strengthen regional and national capacity.
In support of the above, Digital Square is requesting applications focused on strengthening global health security, with a focus on protecting personal identifiable information (PII) through enhancing open-source software tools. The applications are expected to focus on ensuring the protection of sensitive health information through robust cybersecurity and data privacy measures being implemented.
The applications will need to showcase the scale and impact of the tool that the proposal is built around enhancing, i.e., tools should be implemented at scale and show how the proposed changes will make an impact on the scale of the various implementations. Examples of scale and information that should be included in the proposal include the number of implementations over multiple countries reaching a large number of people or demonstration that a tool is implemented nationally, at scale serving a country's population.
