By the end of its sixth year of implementation, the Chèque Santé project had achieved significant progress during 2021. It covers 79% of health districts (HD), with 54% of health facilities accredited, and 82.24% of deliveries (71,813 out of 87,321) conducted under the Chèque Santé scheme across all three regions. In the North region specifically, the project achieved full HD coverage (100%, or 15 out of 15 districts) and an accreditation rate of 70% for health facilities (202 out of 290). Additionally, 70% of eligible individuals purchased the Chèque Santé (34,231 out of 48,602), and 92% of deliveries (28,016 out of 30,303) were conducted under the scheme. The maternal mortality rate was reduced to 2 per 1,000 Chèque Santé deliveries, while the neonatal mortality rate declined to 11 per 1,000 births in 2021, compared to 15 per 1,000 in 2020.
