2019-01-23 openIMIS Testing Workshop



This openIMIS testing workshop has been designed to introduce the master version of openIMIS to various users of the system and to collect their feedback on its functionality and applicability for their day to day work managing the social health insurance system of Nepal. The workshop is designed to be used as a platform to brainstorm openIMIS based solutions for implementation challenges at all levels.

Objectives

The objectives of the workshop conducted on 23-24 January in Pokhara, Nepal were to: 

  1. Introduce all users of Nepal IMIS to openIMIS - the concept, the software, and the community of practice

  2. Disseminate information on latest releases of openIMIS master version

  3. Create user groups for testing the functionalities of the master version

  4. Introduce users to the openIMIS community tools - wiki, Jira issue queue, Read the docs

  5. Initiate testing and documentation

Participants

The participants of the workshop should have a working knowledge of openIMIS. Ideally, participants should be a mix of enrollment assistants (community based insurance personnel), enrolment officers (sub-national level insurance operator staff), health service providers, claim reviewers, and administration personnel.

Test Scenarios

Some guiding testing scenarios were created by the facilitation team to help ease the participants into testing the new system. Additionally, an excel file was created to help everyone log their issues (attached). Some participants have also shown interest in entering the issues directly into JIRA, but to ease the process in the beginning, until everyone was confident in JIRA, we introduced a simple excel file to track test cases and issues arising from them.

Some of the sample testing scenarios are presented below.

For Enrollment Assistants

Enrollment App

  • When in online mode, capture the photos and Membership no and send it to openIMIS Server.

  • When in offline mode, capture the photos and Membership no. and send it to phone storage device.

  • Again, connect to the network to be in online mode and send the locally stored photos to the server.

  • When in online mode, see the statistics of photos that were sent by you from statistics button from menu. Verify the photos send with the given no. in selected date range

Enquire App

  • When in online mode enquire the details of members by entering the membership no.



For Enrollment Officers

Add family into the insurance scheme

  • Add the family with 5 family members into the system. Also, add the product and contribution.

  • Add the family with 7 family members into the system. Also, add the product and contribution.

Modify family details

  • Edit the date of birth and photos of any member of the family.

  • Add 1 family member into the family with 5 family members. Also add contribution amount of Rs 425

  • Move members for 1 family to another

  • Change the head of the family

Renew existing policy

  • Renew Policy for the following Membership NO: District 1: XXXXXXXXX, XXXXXXXXX, XXXXXXXXX,
    District 2: XXXXXXXXX, XXXXXXXXX

Search for members

  • Search members with Membership No. XXXXXXXXX, XXXXXXXXX, XXXXXXXXX, XXXXXXXXX

  • Search member with name: Search Mr. XXX XXXXX of XXXXXXX Municipality

Claim Entry

Enter 10 claims including following conditions. While entering claim use both the Health Facility Claim from Claim menu and from Membership profile

  • Enter claim for OPD

  • Enter claim for IPD >40,000

  • Enter claim for Emergency case

Claim Submission

  • Submit single claim

  • Submit multiple claims

Claim Overview Report

  • Select the report for submitted, valuated and rejected claim separately from 23rd January, 2019

Claim Reviewer

Review Claims

  • Review claims with value  >1,000

  • Valuate the reviewed claims

  • Reject or reduce quantity with explanation of any item from the claim

Valuate Claim

  • Directly valuate claim <1,000 without review

Claim Overview Report

  • Select the report for submitted, valuated and rejected claim separately from 23rd January, 2019
