The development of openIMIS is done mainly by developers who are loosely organized in the Developers Committee. While the great strategic lines in openIMIS product development are currently done according to a Product Roadmap that is aligned at the main funding phases of the openIMIS Initiative, the real life Project Portfolio evolves from the openIMIS value chain for software development:

Ideas	Ideation: Product Incubator - ideas for further development are collected from various sources and their feasibility is discussed by the whole Product Group. Prioritisation: Incubator Prioritization - the Implementers Committee evaluates and prioritizes the ideas in regular calls.
Opportunities	Opportunities come in when funding is available to set up contracts for software development. Students feel free to to browse the Product Incubator for inspiration and get in contact for academic support.
Projects	The Project Portfolio (including detailed project timelines) lists the projects that were contracted from funding opportunities.
Products	In regular Releases (including software downloads and documentation), the results from the projects are published on a regular basis.
