Development Partner

Welcome to openIMIS

The openIMIS Initiative welcomes development partners with global, regional or local reach to combine their efforts to create and maintain a sustainable, open source tool and community of practice that improves health financing mechanisms and social protection schemes.

The openIMIS Initiative is currently supported by over 20 partner organizations who help develop and expand the software. The Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) are the original funders of the Initiative, which is coordinated by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

As we strive to build a global good, the openIMIS Initiative aligns with the Principles for Digital Development and the Digital Investment Principles.

Ways to support openIMIS

Thanks to partners like you, the openIMIS Initiative can continue to support and strengthen the openIMIS community of practice through the development of training materials and capacity development opportunities. Contributions to the Catalytic Implementation Fund allow the openIMIS Initiative to support scheme operators during the initial stages of using openIMIS. Financial support for these activities goes a long way towards helping the openIMIS Initiative sustain, strengthen and amplify its work.

Supporting openIMIS makes you part of the creation and evolution of a global good which is helping to leverage digital advances for the achievement of universal health coverage and universal social protection. In addition to contributing financial resources to the Initiative, you can help us build a robust and resilient health financing management system and grow our community by contributing your technical expertise and providing linkages to your network
