Here you will find a number of training resources structured across specific modules that are free to use in order to learn more about openIMIS. Below is a short overview of the modules currently under development:
Module 1: Introduction to openIMIS
Topics to be covered
- Session 1: Introduction to Health Financing mechanisms and Insurance processes

- Insurance Processes (40 mins slides + 20 mins Q&A)
- Session 2: openIMIS system characteristics and data captured
- Data Flow (20 mins slides + 10 mins Q&A)

- Beneficiary + Claims data (20 mins slides + 10 mins Q&A)
- Configurations overview (20 mins slides + 10 mins Q&A)
- Reporting (20 mins slides + 10 mins Q&A - need input from HISP India!)
- Session 3: Running demos to showcase processes and features
Teaching Mode
Each session is broken up into short sub sessions that will be organized according to availability of identified participants. The format of each sub session will be a (virtual) classroom taught part which will be recorded (and placed here) followed by a discussion round (unrecorded). At the end of the three sessions, a case study as an assignment will be provided. All content will be organized and set up on the Wiki (text, slides, videos, etc.).

Module 2: Setting up and localise the openIMIS platform
Topics to be covered
- Session 1: Installation of openIMIS server-side components (database, web application and windows services)
- Session 2: Country localisation (web application level localisation, database-level localisation, and building of registers)
- Session 3: Installation of mobile phone server-side component (REST API) and mobile applications localisation (application-level localisation and database-level localisation)
Teaching Mode
The module is organised as a tutorial. We will create short hands-on videos per component and per step that the user can follow. The videos will be uploaded on openIMIS YouTube channel and a playlist will be created. Also, the videos will be included in the respective Wiki pages. After the videos are uploaded on YouTube, a Q&A webinar will be organized. Users will also be able to ask questions through comments on the Wiki and the Q&A session will allow to answer and to bring additional information. The Q&A session will be recorded and added to the YouTube channel, and the Wiki pages will be updated to reflect different user needs.
