Here you will find a number of training resources structured across specific modules that are free to use in order to learn more about openIMIS. Below is a short overview of the modules currently under development:
Module 1: Introduction to openIMIS
Topics to be covered
- Session 1: Introduction to Health Financing mechanisms and Insurance processes
- Session 2: openIMIS system characteristics and data captured
- Session 3: Running demos to showcase processes and features
Teaching Mode
Each session will be undertaken on different days. The format will be a classroom taught session undertaken virtually and at the end of the three sessions, a case study as an assignment will be provided. All content will be organized and set up on the Wiki (text, slides, videos, etc.), Wiki context will be used during each session which will be recorded and then also placed on the Wiki as a training resource.

Learning Objective
- Participants gain an understanding of basic health financing concepts and health insurance, underlying function of openIMIS within this realm
- In-depth knowledge of processes supported and data captured by openIMIS
Module 2: Setting up and localise the openIMIS platform
Topics to be covered
- Session 1: Installation of openIMIS server-side components (database, web application and windows services)
- Session 2: Country localisation (web application level localisation, database-level localisation, and building of registers)
- Session 3: Installation of mobile phone server-side component (REST API) and mobile applications localisation (application-level localisation and database-level localisation)
