Context

The social protection sector is undergoing rapid digital transformation, driven by the need for more efficient, responsive, and inclusive systems. Social Registries and Integrated Beneficiary Registries have become essential capabilities of Digital Social Protection Delivery Systems (DSPDS), supporting key processes such as beneficiary identification, eligibility assessment, and program coordination. OpenIMIS, an open-source platform originally focused on health financing, recently merged with the World Bank’s CORE-MIS solution. This merger expanded openIMIS’s functionality, positioning it to offer comprehensive social protection management, including SR and IBR capabilities.
