The developers committee has again bundled an exiting mix of 2024 – it’s a big one! Thanks to enhanced functionalities developed through the integration of CORE-MIS, openIMIS now supports the main activities in all four phases of the social protection delivery chain (Assess, Enroll, Provide, Manage). Everything from intake and registration to basic targeting and payment of benefits can now be managed using openIMIS. With this latest release, openIMIS is well on its way to functioning as a full-fledged social registry. It supports the management of individuals, including filtering by key characteristics and enrolment into various programs. We encourage interested developers and implementers to join us as we work to continue to enhance openIMIS’ functionalities as a robust and dynamic social protection information system. As always, the developers committee has bundled an exciting mix of other updates and additions into this release: The modular migration of openIMIS was completed: all of the legacy functionality is now available on open source technology, including the integration of the mobile apps.The first results of the merger with the CORE-MIS software from The WorldBank are now included in the package as a preview. The experience of both communities qualify openIMIS even more for use cases in universal social protection such as unconditional cash transfer or its implementation as a unified beneficiary registerWorld Bank has further evolved. openIMIS can now cover the basic processes of a full social protection delivery chain from intake and simple targeting to payout of benefits. The team from Nepal has again contributed a number of features back into the main package that proved useful during daily work with the system.
