In a nutshell
openIMIS is a Digital Public Good which powers versatile solutions for the management of health financing and social protection programs. It can be easily configured to support various workflows across the social protection delivery chain. Designed to be interoperable with other information systems, openIMIS draws upon and contributes to Digital Public Infrastructure. Being open source removes licensing fees and fosters a collaborative development environment, making it highly adaptable and affordable.

In April 2024 the openIMIS Stakeholder Committee was inaugurated with representatives from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the European Union Commission (EU), World Bank (WB), International Labour Organization (ILO), World Food Programme (WFP), International Social Security Association (ISSA), the knowledge hub Asian e-Health Information Network (AeHIN), international Software-development partners Swiss TPH and SolDevelo, as well as individual health financing experts.

Following short welcome and opening remarks by the funders of the global openIMIS Initiative – SDC, BMZ and EU, two sessions will introduce the community & partners (session I) and engage them in a discussion on requirements for beneficiary management in health and social protection (session II).
