The openIMIS Initiative is happy to announce the October software release of openIMIS for this year. With this release it will be possible to install the openIMIS core on a full open source technology stack, eliminating the need to install software components from Microsoft. Implementers now have the choice if they want keep their openIMIS data in an MS SQL database server or in the open source PostgreSQL. The developers have also put in a lot of new and impressive features, especially the new reporting module. Furthermore, a number of security improvements have been made, most prominently an update to the Django 3.2 framework. Feel free to browse the detailed list of changes in the Release Notes and check out the usual links for further information and downloads: Kindly be aware of the Service Desk to report issues that you might experience with this new version. |

Beta Test The openIMIS Initiative opens up the Beta testing phase to a wider audience. You are now able to play around with new features before the product is even released. Of course, the features will not all work as expected at this stage, but you are helping the team to achieve a higher quality level by reporting bugs that you might find. With this release it will be possible to install openIMIS core on a full open source technology stack, eliminating the need to install software components from Microsoft. Implementers now have the choice if they want to run openIMIS on a MS SQL database server or on the open source PostgreSQL. The developers have also put in a lot of new and impressive features, which you can already try out on the release server, especially the new reporting module.
