The openIMIS Initiative works with a growing number of partner organizations. Our partners shape openIMIS implementations, identify technical priorities and support the ongoing expansion of openIMIS as an open source product and community. We rely on our strong network of partners for technical expertise, leadership and generous support.

Asia eHealth Information Network (AeHIN)

Asia eHealth Information Network (AeHIN) is a collaboration of digital health advocates created by the World Health Organization in 2011 to help Asian countries with digital health development. It has over 1000+ professionals in eHealth, HIS, and CRVS in 25 countries with 21+ development and implementing partners. It has helped build capacity in the region by laying down national health information foundations: governance, architecture, program management, standards and interoperability (Mind the GAPS Playbook).

Bluesquare

Bluesquare was founded in 2012 to help governments and their partners digitize public health services. By improving the scope, quality and efficiency of public services, our technologies make quality performance data available to decision-makers. Bluesquare’s technologies promote a more equitable and efficient allocation of healthcare resources in more than 30 countries impacting over 100 million people.

Funders

The openIMIS Initiative is dependent on funds from development partners to operate manage the Initiative, to develop and maintain the software, and to run the technical platforms. The following organisations contribute to the further evolution of openIMIS:

The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is the agency for international cooperation of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA). The SDC is responsible for the overall coordination with other federal authorities of development and cooperation with Eastern Europe as well as for humanitarian aid delivered by the Swiss Confederation.

Swiss international cooperation, which is an integral part of the Federal Council's foreign policy, aims to contribute to a world without poverty and in peace, for sustainable development.

The Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (German: Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung), abbreviated BMZ, is a cabinet-level ministry of the Federal Republic of Germany. Founded in 1961, the Ministry works to encourage economic development within Germany and in other countries through international cooperation and partnerships. It cooperates with international organizations involved in development including the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, and the United Nations. Its main office is at the former German Chancellery in Bonn with a second major office at the Europahaus in Berlin.

HISP India

HISP India is a not for profit NGO specializing since 15+ years in designing and implementing solutions in health informatics for the public health sector. With projects in 20 states in India and various neighboring countries such as Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan and others, HISP India strengthens the design, development, and implementation of integrated, free and open source based public health information systems.

International Labour Organization (ILO)

The Advisory Services Unit (ASU) of the Social Protection department (SOCPRO) of the ILO provides technical support to many countries to conduct the actuarial valuations of their social insurance schemes. ILO benefits from a unique position to deliver technically sound and neutral policy advice recognized by all social partners based on an internationally accepted framework of ILO Conventions on social security.

The openIMIS Initiative participates in relevant working groups in a number of global organizations:

The Digital Convergence Initiative is an open, transparent and virtual community working to build a global consensus around standards and guidelines for social protection information systems.

The focus of the GovStack Initiative is to enable countries to kick-start their digital transformation journey by adopting, deploying, and scaling digital government services. Through the digital building blocks approach, governments can easily create or modify their digital platforms, services, and applications by also simplifying cost, time, and resource requirements.

The Health Data Collaborative is a WHO-driven collaborative platform that leverages and aligns technical and financial resources (at all levels) to country owned strategies and plans for collecting, storing, analysing and using data to improve health outcomes, with specific focus on SDG targets and communities that are left behind.

OpenG2P is a digital public good digitizing large scale cash transfers with open source building blocks.

The OpenHIE Network is a community of people building an open framework to support nations as they develop health information exchanges (HIEs) to improve patient care, public health, and the management of health resources. The openIMIS Initiative takes part in the monthly calls on Universal Health Coverage and Health Financing.

The P4H Social Health Protection Network is the thriving global network for health financing and social health protection.
