eLearning Course
On Since November 317, 2021, AeHIN Chair, Dr. Boonchai Kijsanayotin, presented a proposal on a potential DRG course offering for the openIMIS community. The proposal is outlined below:
Proposal for eLearning: Diagnosis Related Group for Universal Health Coverage
Target group:
This e-learning course aims at building up knowledge and learning experiences for participants from countries that want to pursue the universal health coverage policy with payment to acute inpatient care with diagnosis-related group tools. The core course materials target the whole range of stakeholders from policy levels to operational levels. Sub-modules segmentally target individual groups from researchers and developers of the tools, hospitals, funders, and academic professional bodies such as health care accreditation assessors and medical associations.
Learning objective for the whole course:
After completion of the core and specific modules and the self-assessment, participants will be able to:
Utilize her/his knowledge on DRG to design strategic roadmaps to adopt or to update the application of DRG into the UHC framework according to her/his roles.
Step up her/his advanced experiences on DRG by planning further educational learning fit with appropriate UHC status.

During the presentation, the implementers provided their feedback to the course as outlined below:
Include content (module 2) on how to transition to DRGs and how to link to existing tools like openIMIS
Include content (module 2) on how to Identify enhancements needed to be done for openIMIS with regard to DRGs / specifications
Include content (module 4) for benchmarking between health facilities brought by using DRGs and IT combined

Since November 17, 2021, the openIMIS regional hub in Asia, through country hub representatives, has started giving feedback to the tentative openIMIS eLearning course hosted through the SwissTPH moodle platform. The feedback was sent through the feedback box inside the moodle platform.
