MOSIP is a global, open-source platform designed to help countries build and manage their national digital identity systems. Established in 2018 at the International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIITB), the project aims to bridge the global "identity gap," empowering individuals by providing them with legal and verifiable digital identities.

MOSIP provides governments with the tools necessary for meaningful digital transformation. By offering a modular and open-source architecture, it enables nations to maintain ownership and control over their identity infrastructure, avoiding vendor lock-in and ensuring that technology solutions remain adaptable to local needs and ever-changing global standards.
