Objectives of Community Meeting 2026
Objectives of the meeting
Why This Meeting Matters
The openIMIS Community Meeting 2026 is designed to strengthen collaboration, foster innovation, and align stakeholders around a shared vision for the future. The meeting will focus on four key objectives:
Celebrating a Decade of Impact and Extracting Lessons for the Future
The meeting will provide a platform to acknowledge the achievements of countries’ openIMIS implementation and of the global community. Through panel discussions, case studies, and interactive sessions, participants will explore how openIMIS has evolved, the challenges overcome, and the impact created in advancing UHC and USP. Together with teams from Nepal the community can reflect on what lessons learned can be drawn from the evolution of the health insurance solution, to guide other country implementations, advance existing and catalyse new solutions.
Showcasing and Scaling Innovations
With the recent ‘go-live’ of the openIMIS Sandbox incl. first interoperability scenarios built and demonstrated with it, technical advancements around the beneficiary mgmt. solution, fresh features fed-in during a hackathon, as well as advancements in AI-driven claims adjudication, the meeting will showcase the latest technical developments. Participants will engage in hands-on workshops, demonstrations, and discussions to understand how these innovations can be applied in their own contexts.
Forging stronger Partnerships for Global Scalability
The meeting will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders – including developers, implementers, and global partners such as WB, ILO, WFP, UNICEF, ADB, WHO, and DPGA – to strengthen collaboration. By aligning efforts, the community can accelerate the adoption of openIMIS, ensuring it remains a flexible, interoperable, and sustainable solution for countries worldwide.
Way forward for openIMIS – DPG & Community
The meeting will conclude with a collaborative discussion on the future direction of openIMIS as a Digital Public Good and its global community. Together, participants will identify key priorities for technical advancements, capacity-building, and strategic positioning within the broader Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) landscape. This shared vision will help ensure that openIMIS remains a flexible, interoperable, and sustainable solution, empowering countries on their path to digital sovereignty and equitable health and social protection.
