Project Description
This project involves a student Alish Bhomi from Kathmandu University exploring digital health and social protection systems by experimenting with e-claiming in OpenIMIS. The project integrates OpenMRS as the electronic medical record system, OpenHIM as the interoperability mediator, and OpenHIE for health information exchange, all within a sandbox environment. The focus is on understanding how these systems communicate, exchange patient and claim data securely, and support efficient health service reimbursement processes. This hands-on project provides practical insights into building interoperable health IT systems for social health protection.
Project Goal:
The goal of this project is to learn digital health concepts through the Health Informatics program by implementing an end-to-end e-claiming workflow using OpenIMIS, integrated with OpenMRS, OpenHIM, and OpenHIE standards. The project aims to provide hands-on experience with health data exchange, interoperability, and social health protection systems, while deepening understanding of practical applications of digital health technologies.
