Stakeholder Conference (Sep 2025)

Date: 17 September 2025

Place: virtual, MS Teams session

In a nutshell

openIMIS is a Digital Public Good which powers versatile solutions for the management of health financing and social protection programs. It can be easily configured to support various workflows across the social protection delivery chain. Designed to be interoperable with other information systems, openIMIS draws upon and contributes to Digital Public Infrastructure. Being open source removes licensing fees and fosters a collaborative development environment, making it highly adaptable and affordable.

openIMIS is currently implemented in 14 countries, for 16 health and social protection programs, reaching 36.4 million people. Funding, technical development & customisation and implementation on the global level and in partner countries has been supported by more than 40 community contributors & peer networks.

In April 2024 the openIMIS Stakeholder Committee was inaugurated with representatives from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the European Commission (EU), World Bank (WB), International Labour Organization (ILO), World Food Programme (WFP), International Social Security Association (ISSA), the knowledge hub Asian e-Health Information Network (AeHIN), international Software-development partners Swiss TPH and SolDevelo, as well as individual health financing experts.
