Summary | The World Bank has been a key partner in the development and evolution of openIMIS. It originally developed CORE-MIS, an open-source Java-based software adopted by multiple countries to manage cash transfer programs. In a strategic merger, CORE-MIS was integrated into openIMIS, with the World Bank providing both product guidance and technical advisory to ensure a smooth transition. Since then, the World Bank has continued to actively contribute to the core modules of openIMIS, particularly in supporting features for unconditional and conditional cash transfer programs. Its contributions strengthen code quality, enrich the functionality of the system, and foster collaboration within the open-source community, while also bringing in technical expertise and product roadmap advisory to guide the platform’s long-term development. |
