I. Background and purpose

OpenIMIS is a software that helps social security institutions meet the challenges of managing their operations. It is an open-source software application developed in partnership between the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH), the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and the German International Development Cooperation Agency (GIZ). The ILO supported SSF (Social Security Fund) in Nepal by customizing an OpenIMIS solution for the management of non-medical benefits at SSF.
