MT-03 Develop Metrics

MT-03 Develop Metrics

Goal: “Develop metrics to analyse and compare multiple offline data storage architectures based on the given research questions”

Research Questions

  1. Which offline data storage architecture best balances performance and cost-effectiveness for health insurance systems in low- and middle-income countries?

  2. Which metrics define performance in an offline data storage system and what are the related challenges and chances in different LMICs?

  3. What are the trade-offs between different offline storage architectures (e.g. distributed, hybrid cloud, local databases) in terms of performance, cost, and scalability?

  4. How can data integrity and security be maintained in offline data storage systems used for openIMIS?

Metrics

To above highlighted terms will be measured by the following metrics:

Metric

What it Measures

Category

Availability

The time where openIMIS can be used in full functionality with or without connection to the backend

Performance

Resource Utilization

Usage of CPU, Memory, Power while running openIMIS in offline Mode.

Performance

Low bandwidth tolerance

Response time for data synchronisation of requests at low Bandwith using 2G or 3G

Performance

Infrastructure Cost

Additional server or hardware expenses to use offline storage mode in openIMIS

Cost

Operational Cost

Amount of development needed for maintenance and deployment

Cost

Device Compability

Amount of available devices to run openIMIS offline mode

Cost
