The aim of this phase is to switch the data base engine to the target (Postgres) one, without any structure transformation (but create indexes,...). This phase is NOT iterative/incremental: all tables (modules) are migrated in once. |
The target technology stack is based on a ORM (django) and won't make use of any database server-specific (MSSQL nor Postgres) features:
no Stored Procedure
no specific (Transact-SQL) functions
As a consequence, the migration to Postgres server should be limited to a re-location of the tables (and index re-creation,...)
