The openIMIS Initiative is happy to announce the April software release of openIMIS for this year. The current release is mainly a bug-fixing release, where the developers squashed more than two hundred bugs, that were reported in an in -depth review by an external business expert. A number of performance improvements were introduced. In addition, the database management was restructured to allow an easier migration between different database solutions in the backend. Implementers now have the choice if they want to run openIMIS on a MS SQL database server or on the open source PostgreSQL. Feel free to browse the detailed list of changes in the Release Notes and check out the usual links for further information and downloads: Kindly be aware of the Service Desk to report issues that you might experience with this new version. |

Beta Test The openIMIS Initiative opens up the Beta testing phase to a wider audience. You are now able to play around with new features before the product is even released. Of course, the features will not all work as expected at this stage, but you are helping the team achieve a higher quality level by reporting bugs that you might find. With this release, it will be possible to install openIMIS core on a full open source technology stack, eliminating the need to install software components from Microsoft. Implementers now have the choice if they want to run openIMIS on a MS SQL database server or on the open source PostgreSQL. The developers have fixed many issues identified during the period after the last release and made the solution more performant, which you can already try out on the release server. Feel free to browse the full list of changes in the release notes and to check out the usual links for further information and testing:
