Collaboration between openIMIS and academia

openIMIS is supported by various universities and their networks to help broaden its knowledge base and increase its reach. These academic institutions are building various capacities related to openIMIS, ranging from software users to implementing organizations. They are also using openIMIS to demonstrate health financing workflows.

Meet some of the universities working with openIMIS

Germany

A team of students at MARS, the Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Applied Sciences in Mannheim, is working on the development of a new mobile app for openIMIS. The project is part of a semester-long course in which students are tasked with developing a missing feature for an open source project.

Indonesia

The openIMIS Country Hub in Indonesia has introduced openIMIS as a teaching tool for the Master of Public Health (MPH) curriculum at Universitas Gadjah Mada. The university launched its two-year MPH in 1990 and admits 200-300 students into the program each year. At present the MPH offers ten majors.
